We stayed at the attached hotel, which we very much enjoyed, and stopped in at Kip's for breakfast. Really nice decor, we sat over in a curtained off section, which was absolutely charming. I had a bowl of the Potato Leek Soup, which I have to say, was probably one of the best potato soups I have ever had! I must add though, that for the difference in price, the bowl is hardly an improvement over the cup size, and not worth the extra cost. Cost, that's the one thing that Kip's does suffer a bit on. $3.00 for a pop/soda? C'mon! While the attached hotel may be a 3.5 star hotel, don't forget, you're still in the midwest. The other person at my table had the chicken boxty, and I must say... O...M...G...! Amazing stuff! I had my doubts at first, it seemed to be like a TexMex meets Irish fusion sort of dish, but when I tried a sample of it, I was blown away! The boxty is a must! I'd give this place 4 stars, being attached to the hotel, the breakfast buffett should have been complimentary for hotel guests. It was $14.00, I gave it a quick once-over, and promptly declined. Scrambled eggs, oatmeal, and less than impressive biscuts and gravy, nowhere remotely worth the $14.00 they were asking. $7.00 would have been a more appropriate price.

My wife and I were out for our 12 year anniversary. We decided on Kip's, an Irish Bar in the Marriott on 394. It took awhile for us to find the place, but when we did, we were happy. It was about noon on a Saturday and when we entered, it was sparsely populated, but I saw the line of beer taps and I knew we had a winner. They had Pilsner Urquell on tap, the original pilsner laced with the unique Saaz hops that give the suds its trademark flavor. The glass was full to its 20 ounce brim, it was gonna be a good meal. I ordered their signature chicken sandwich with mashed potatoes and a Caesar side salad. I would have liked to have my salad before the meal, but now we're getting picky. It came with some weird cheese concoction, like a flat bread, but overall good. My wife got the vegetable soup with some bread and she said it was awesome. My salad had a little too much dressing, but it was solid, but the sandwich was moist with caramelized onions and some brie cheese on top. Very nice. The mashed potatoes were creamy and rich and you could taste the happiness. It was a perfect amount for lunch. The just got Summit IPA on tap, so I had to order one of those. The hoppy explosion pounded my taste buds as soon as I sipped on the nectar. Summit knows how to do their business. The service was fantastic, super great server and she delivered with a smile. Great out of the way Irish Bar.

Wow! A nice authentic Irish Pub in the West End of town ..no, it's not in the West End Shops...but it's slightly off the beaten path, well it was for me anyways, but once I found it, I realized it was really at a good location, centrally located near 394 & 169 in St. Louis Park - just minutes from Minneapolis/ Hopkins/ Minnetonka/Golden Valley/Plymouth. Went there for a team outing after work Happy Hour for celebration for a promotion and a couple of birthdays people in the group. We had excellent service (super nice waitrons and bartenders), drinks and food. Think Happy Hour or Irish food is all the same? Well, think again! Happy Hour food is irishly good (mini reubens) and so is the traditional fare ..fish and chips, pot pie..etc...Let's face it though, we do't really go to an Irish pub for the food, but for the ambience, and this restaurant has it. It's nice and cozy, good food and plenty of parking, since it's connected to the Marriot Hotel. The hotel looks very nice, too. I'm making a mental note now to recommend it to our out of town visitors. Ok, back to Kips. I've come back twice since the initial Team Happy Hour and it's always been an enjoyable experience and vibe. Love that I don't have to drive all the way to downtown, just to go to an authentic Irish pub. Definitely Recommend. Happy St. Patrick's day, Kips! Thank you!

I was speaking for a group here and had a lunch from a fixed menu. The food was decent, wish I would have had fries instead of the chips... The stand out thing in this case was the server. She was awesome. If it were not for the fact that this place is like a billion miles from my house I'd likely go back. Being attached to a Marriott is also a bit of bummer, but I'm willing to look past that. The sign that says they welcome "Packer Backers" was a bit much.

Weekday happy hour beginning at 4pm. Discounted beer, select wines, and rail drinks. Special priced appetizer menu. Outdoor patio. All I wanted the other day was to meet friends for a drink and sit outside someplace in order to enjoy the beautiful weather we were having. Kip's fit the bill. I enjoyed their Beringer Pinot Grigio. We shared 3 different apps: calamari, fish fingers, and Irish Spring rolls. The calamari was alright - lightly breaded and fried and tender - and served with marinara sauce and a roasted red pepper aioli. The fish fingers were more like fish thighs, and not so good - heavily battered & fried and greasy. The Irish Spring rolls, happily, contained no trace of that famous soap. Instead, there were bits of corned beef, shredded cabbage and potato and cheese inside of a eggroll style wrap and deep fried to crispiness. They were unusual and tasty. The bathrooms are quite a walk from their patio - through the bar, and down the hall a ways. We had a very pleasant server who was friendly and very poised for her young and tender age.

Stopped by Kip's for dinner with friends last night. The patio is nice, especially on a 70-degree fall evening. We ordered the Chicken and Pepper Jack Boxter for a happy hour app. The boxy was $5 instead of $8 during happy hour. It was just OK, and tasted kind of like something you would get at Perkins. The cheese was a little too gooey and tasted more like American cheese than Pepper Jack. I probably wouldn't order it again. For our entrees, I had the Blackened Salmon on Field Greens and the hubby orderd the Bangers and Mash. I thought the salmon was excellent, and had great seasoning. Not much else to the salad besides greens and some feta. My husband really enjoyed the bangers and mash, but he likes any kind of sausage. The gravy was really dark and looked almost like BBQ. I always have to try dessert when I go to a new restaurant and Kip's had lots of good options. We decided to order the Apple Cobbler based on the high recommendation from our waitress. Unfortunately, neither of us was impressed with cobbler. The apple filling was obvioulsy canned and had a kind of sticky and thick texture that coated your mouth. It was more like a slab pie to me than cobbler, because it didn't have the traditional cobbler biscuit on top, but just some pie crust. This might have been better if it was fresher. I just couldn't get over that sticky canned filling. The couple we were with ordered the Pumpkin Creme Brulee which tasted much better. It was served in a martini glass and had a really nice creamy consistency with good flavor from the spices. If we ever go back, I will probably try the chocolate guinness cake.

The food is usually good but it takes forever to get it - good luck if you're in a hurry. Staff are usually pleasant.

probably the best selection of Irish Whiskies in MN ... the food ain't bad either

  • Camille L.

I like their $10 lunch specials! The price includes the entree, drink, tax + tip! Most of the entrees come with fries too but they call them wedge chips. The lunch service is a little slow though. They have a nice little outdoor terrace with big umbrellas in the summertime. It's a pretty decent place to come if you work by the area for happy hour. The happy hour drink deals are not very good but the outdoor seating compensates for that.

Eggs were poached beautifully but the greasy hashbrowns and overly thick and salty hollandaise was hard to look past. Might give this one another try though - you never know!

Really good food. Really slow on the weekends for some reason. Location is tough to find but if you're staying at the hotel it's a no-brainer. I was surprised how good the food is. There are quite a few really good places to eat within a 5-minute drive of Kips. I would guess it's just slower due to the location but don't let that stop you from trying it.. the food and service were both very good. It was good enough that I'll go back if I'm in the area again.

I went here last week and had no complaints. Food wasn't spectacular, but decent, and not crowded. This morning I went and sat for literally ten minutes after being seated and no server ever showed up. Left and went to Perkins. 2 stars since last week didn't suck.

We ordered breakfast room-service and it was managed through Kips. We had an American breakfast, eggs, bacon, hash browns, and pancakes. The eggs were to order and we ordered them scrambled which is a mistake since this means eggs from a carton. The bacon was tasty as were the hash browns. The pancakes were very good

To say that Kips is out of the way is an understatement. To say that it's worth the effort to find is also an understatement. I tried the Irish spring rolls as an appetizer. They were incredible. I moved on to the bangers and mash. It was truly delightful. The food was high quality and really a bargain. We sat outside to enjoy the patio, which was ample. The hostess told me that they make a point to put the smokers at one end of the patio and the non-smokers at the other end. Smart! The staff was especially friendly and responsive. There were no mistakes and we didn't get forgotten about. We had a great time!

This was a second stop on a St. Patty's weekend of liver stress-testing. We didn't eat any food, but we sure as hell enjoyed the beverages. They have a great selection of Irish beers on tap, including my personal favorite Smithwicks. Inner mixed with about a half-dozen of those, we savored glasses of 16 year old Bushmills. Absolutely heavenly. We also enjoyed a live Gaelic band and very attentive bar tenders. Kips is a fun spot and I am looking forward to a second visit to try the food.

I ate here tonight with my husband and adult son. Son had the corned beef and cabbage. Said it was excellent. Husband had the bacon cheeseburger. Said it was delicious. I had the curry chicken, pretty good, but wished I had tried something else like they had. Anyway, busy Friday night... Service was excellent and all three meals came hot, which is important to me. Lukewarm fries just don't cut it. Husband said they were some of the most perfect fries he's had. Beers were good, although glasses were a bit on the small side. Overall, we would go again.

My first time at Kips was for happy hour, around 5 or 6 in the evening. My friends and I ordered almost every appetizer on the menu, to snack and share. Everything except the sliders was fantastic! Service was snappy and pleasant, even though the place was pretty busy. We sat on the patio in the comfy lounge area, and it was fun. Added bonus - the place is right around the corner from my office, and within just a few miles of home! The second time I visited was with a group of coworkers for lunch, and it was the exact opposite. The food was disappointing that time. Also, even though the restaurant was dead, service was incredibly slow. It seems that they didn't have any actual servers on staff at the time, and had their management staff, in full suits, bringing our drinks and food out at a snails pace. A few of the coworkers mentioned they had this same problem before at lunchtime.

Sorry, but I don't know why this place is so popular. I came here to place a take out order because I was staying at the Marriott and there's nowhere else to eat. It was around 7:30 and it was PACKED. I ordered the short rib sandwich and it was super disappointing. There was barely any meat and was falling apart and cost $13! The sweet potato fries were pretty good though. It came with a side of what I thought was au jus and ended up being syrup! I'm going to assume it was for the fries, but yeah, I dipped my sandwich in it and gagged lol. +1 star because the hostess was super nice.

It's an OK place with good service and a good selection of whiskies but there's the food. I'm sure it is prepared perfectly but, as it turns out, Irish food is boring and tasteless to me. I had the corned beef and cabbage which was (no surprise) boring and tasteless. The restaurant is quite nice but I just can't seem to see the attraction in Irish food - whiskey yes, food no.

Near as I can tell, there might be food here. But it has taken about 40 min for it to arrive. Soup, salad and sandwiches. *Update - it's here! Tasty but my afternoon schedule is now trashed. At least the wifi is solid. If you have time, check it out.

Good location. Nice patio (although too hot to sit out for very long). Good pub atmosphere. Very good Cajun catfish tacos. I know, at an Irish pub??? But they were recommended by Katie, our server. Katie was pleasant, helpful, and very good. The Reuben egg rolls were excellent too.

Went with girlfriends on Friday night and we were surprise at it's decent interior. The place is dark - typical pub but a lot quieter. A man was singing but no one seems care. We had a corner table and quickly decided to get some desserts. We ordered Chocolate Fudge and Bailey's Creme Brulee. Both desserts tasted SO GOOD. They weren't overly sweet like the average dessert. This has exceeded our expectation. I believe I will return just for the dessert. It took our waitress a while to take our order despite the restaurant was pretty empty and quiet. Throughout the night she only came to our table two to three time, no drink refill. Did I mention we spent three hours there? Overall a nice place to chill with friends or family. I am looking to return for a date night with my husband.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel-attached restaurant. In fact, so pleasantly surprised, we came here multiple times and I just forgot to check in! We checked out the place on Friday evening after a family deal left us with nothing to do by about 9pm. You can't exactly go for a stroll when it's negative 9 degrees outside. The beer selection was decent and the waitress was helpful in selecting. She even brought me a sample shooter to taste! The rest of the party got drinks with harder liquor and they all seemed to enjoy. We shared some chips and snacks. We had lunch here the following day, or those of us that couldn't partake in a free lunch earlier (where everything had milk/dairy in it) had lunch here. Namely, me. I had a burger with bacon on it. It was quite good, considering it's, again, a hotel restaurant and it's Irish, maybe. We returned here a third time for a late snack this same night. Everyone got some sort of hot beverage ... teas, cocoas, etc., and we shared a plate of the sweet potato fries with maple syrup. What a simple notion but a brilliant one! The saltiness of the fries mixed with the sugary sweet maple delight was a fantastic late night snack. I'm so glad we got it.

In all fairness, this should be 3.5 stars. But given the options it is closer to a 4 than to a 3. Tried only the appetizers... The fried calamari was surprisingly good, as was the warm goat cheese. The mini Reubens were pretty nice, and the Irish spring rolls disappointing. I'll come to try some more.

Half Reuben with cup of french onion soup. Probably one of the best I've had. And the bartender Allison was really informative on local hot spots, since I'm only in town for 1 week.

I went there yesterday for lunch. Not bad fish and chips (chips a bit soggy though) big, well cooked pieces of fish. The major problem was the service. Very slow! Also, the hostess was rude when she seated us. Won't be back for business lunch. Maybe for a pint.

  • Glen S.

It's really out of the way. Unless you're staying at the hotel it is attached to, there is really no reason to be headed that way (unless, like pointed out, you work in the area). The server and host accommodated our "growing over time" party very well. We started with just 3 and it grew to six over an hour or so and they were very understanding of that. The service was great and friendly as well. The food was alright. The Pot-Pie was made from scratch with fresh veggies and chicken inside and while I enjoyed that, I was able to try some of the fish and chips which also was very sufficient. Honestly, I just don't have any reason to go back here. We tried it, we're satisfied with it and probably won't head back. No real reason, just that it's pretty out of the way for a place that I consider to be OK. Would I suggest it to others, ehh, probably not but I also wouldn't prevent someone from going if they really wanted to go there.

I have been here a few times, stopped for lunch today. The food was great but SLOOOOW, the waitress was really nice and I dont think it was her fault it must be the kitchen which is crazy because the place was not that busy. I cant take 2 hours for lunch when all I order is soup and half a sandwich, pick up the pace! Leek andoille sausage soup was wonderful 4 stars Rueben, best Ive had 5 stars Slowness- 1 star (you cant be a lunch place and take that long my small party ordered very simple dishes nothing that takes longer like a potpie, it made no sense)

Kip's Irish Pub is attached to the Marriott West hotel. Usually, a "hotel bar" is a shelf in a corner with limited drink options and a couple bowls of peanuts or party mix. Not Kip's: They're a full-service restaurant with a full bar, knowledgeable staff, experienced bartenders, and the kind of atmosphere you'd find in one of the Cara Pubs properties (Kieran's, The Local, Cooper, etc.). Because they're somewhat off the beaten path, patrons tend to fall into one of two categories: travelers staying at the hotel and locals who live in the immediate area. It's quite the collection of denizens, and there are always interesting folk to meet. The new additions on the menu are quite good, including several salmon dishes, Blue Point oysters, and the like. Plus, there are more appetizer selections now (including goat cheese and Reuben sliders). However, the chicken and pepper jack boxti has moved from appetizer to entree, though in all fairness it's big enough to be a meal on its own (fans of the boxti app will miss it, I'm sure). One down side I found was in the 2 new curried items (the curried chips app and the curry chicken entree). What smells like a delicious curry sauce has no flavor whatsoever. I have to qualify things by saying that I prefer spicy curries over the sweet ones, and this curry is sweeter, so if that's your cup of tea, you may enjoy it. People who like a little kick in their curry, however, will find it somewhat bland. Wednesday night they have Pop Culture Pub Trivia at 7pm, with the guys from Loose Gravel Productions hosting. Loose Gravel is a great team, the trivia is fun (pop culture and "name that band"), and 1st place gets a $50 Kip's gift certificate! Plus, the more you play, the more points you rack up towards qualifying for a shot at the bi-annual tournament with some fantastic prices (last time, 1st place took home $500 bucks). All in all, it's a fantastic local pub that happens to be attached to a great hotel. And who knows? You may find me at the end of the bar, enjoying a pint. Sláinte!

We visited Kip's looking for a fish 'n' chips joint. Typical restaurant / pub ambiance with low lighting and comfortable chairs & booths. Knowledgeable wait staff too. My sister did have the panko encrusted haddock which was flavorful and light. The home style fries were simply superb - crispy, salted and thick. Me and my dad had the bangers and mash along with a glass of the proprietor owned Finnegan's micro-brew. The sausage gave a full texture, but along with the simple mashed potatoes provided a clean palate to contrast with the excellent gravy. The sauce was rich, hearty, fatty and complex. The beer was clean, cool and crisp and washed down the meat leaving us very satisfied.

This is one of my favorite places to come. I've had almost everything on the menu and I've never been disappointed. My favorite is the smoked salmon appetizer! It's the perfect amount of food. Just had the egg white frittata for breakfast and was very pleased. The bartenders make excellent drinks and take time to get to know their customers. On busy nights sitting in the dining room can create a bit of wait time but that's true for most places in the cities.

Well, we tried it, not sure I'd go back. Very slow service, it took almost 20 minutes just to get our drinks. We were ready to walk out when they arrived. We ordered our food right when the drinks came, but the food came another 40 minutes later. We ordered onion rings too, but sadly, they came right with our dinner, not before hand. Drinks were long empty before we saw waitress again. It took another 10 minutes to get our bill after they cleared the dishes. Don't go here unless have have no place to be.

This is a beautifully designed bar restaurant at the Marriott West in SLP. A lot of corporate surroundings seem to be what gives this place its regulars. It's worth a try if you'll be in the area. We just had appetizers, the calamari I liked, not heavy, just chewy and tasty. The most unique deep fried Irish spring rolls, like a potato casserole in a wrap and I loved it. I was curious about the cole slaw . I should have just asked for a sample. Generic slaws all have that weird taste, and the seeds. I'm sure my son would love the beer selection. I had a coke, it tasted good, but the refill was really off. We had 2 servers, that's always awkward when one is getting off shift. It's one of the best hotel restaurants I've ever encountered. Very real. Plus the Irish Gazette.

As a native Celt I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Service is great for a start but the biggest surprise for a hotel place was a genuine atmosphere!

This is a clean, decent pub with good food located in the Marriott West hotel. Since this was the only place to eat at within a few blocks and I didn't have a car while staying at the hotel, I ended up eating here a few times. I had Harp on tap, fish and chips, bangers and mash, and the walleye dinner. The Harp on tap was great. The fish and chips were alright. The bangers and mash were good. The walleye dinner was really good. It came with green beans, red potatoes, filet of walleye with mango chutney salsa. I had the walleye twice. The pub itself is pretty mellow with a friendly crowd. The staff is nice and friendly also.

Not hard to find at all!!! Just round the corner from 394! If u used to go to Satorini is is just up the street ! I got married in this beautiful hotel. Food is ok nothing to write home about servers are rude they have been allot of changes in staff but ok place to go

This pub is worth venturing off to the west for a visit! It is pretty hidden and attached to a hotel just off Hwy 394. They serve some traditional Irish food and some American food. I always have to order the chicken and pepper jack boxty. It's kinda like sheppards pie, but its made with a potato pancake, cheese and topped with red pepper aioli. The interior feels a lot like a cabin pub. For some reason I get a log cabin feel with the wood, walls, tables and bar. They often have bands and local artists play on a small stage in the dining area. If you are any fun at all, I hear they also have trivia nights, local musican performances on their small dining room stage and wooden nickels for bogo beer. There are 4 reasons I continue to go to Kip's: 1. Happy hour (twice per weekday)-awesome drink specials and smaller portion sizes of some of the best appetizers/meals for $4-6! 2. Awesome staff-friendly and they don't seem to have frequent turnover 3. Patio seating-while the view sucks (it overlooks the hotel parking lot), it's large with music playing from speakers in the plants 4. Friends of Kip's beer club- sign up for their newsletter and get a monthly coupon to try a new beer for free on Sundays!

Went there with some buddies and we really like the look and feel of Kip's. Ordered the Reuben and thought it was great. Beer selection is solid. Fries were really good. We all thought that it's a place we would come back to and enjoy happy hour.

I stopped in here for a late night dinner while staying at the hotel across the street. There were only a few other people there. I ordered a lemonade, which was delicious but served in a glass that wasn't properly washed. A little dirt never hurt anyone, but it would have been nice to receive a clean glass. I didn't bother the waitress about it. I just ordered the chicken pot pie. It took almost a half hour for it to come out, and it was so piping hot I definitely burned my mouth a few times, but hot dang it was the best chicken pot pie I ever ate in my life. After tax and tip I paid $21.00 for a chicken pot pie and a lemonade. Not the worst choice of places if you want to eat something good late at night, but it definitely wouldn't have been my first choice if I had been eating at a decent hour. Would I return? Probably not. But If you're the type that doesn't mind overpaying to eat the best pot pie you ever had on dirty dishes, you should try it. ;)

Trivia on Wednesdays! Three rounds of not too specific and just hard enough. My friends are a bunch of smarties with a lot of different interests, so we kicked butt in sports, culture, politics, and history. I had a great time at Kips and not just bc my team won trivia night. OK, that is probably the main reason. I'm not a huge fan of Irish food, but a lot of just didn't look very good. Some of my onion rings were burnt beyond where most people would eat them. The alcohol selection seems solid, but the baby in my belly means I'm abstaining. The location is weird. It is in the Marriot. Weird. But the atmosphere is nice and has the authentic for Minnesota feel. Our waitress was a little slow, which would have been super annoying if we were just there for drinks and food. But like I said -- TRIVIA!

Lets not forget that a 3-Star review is a solid review. to me a 3-Star means the place met expectations, it just didn't BLOW me away with some really unique twist and this describes Kips. Its a nice place to hang out, a decent selection of draft beers, a decent menu - all Irish, but prepared well. I was in the area for a meeting with a new client and stayed at the Marriott where this restaurant is located. The place is a typical Irish Pub, clean and well decorated. The staff is friendly and very attentive to the guests. I had the beer of the month "Rolle Bolle", it was recommended and it was good. I sampled the white bean hummus, very tasty. The homemade Tomato Soup, chunky style, also tasty and the potato's and cabbage, nice with a little salt, pepper and butter. All in all a good experience.

An Irish Pub that is not located downtown - fine by me! Kips is attached to the Marriott and while it is off the beaten path, it is worth a visit. Parking can be a tiny challenge if the hotel is full and forget about even getting close on St. Patrick's Day! The atmosphere is nice with comfortable chairs and seemingly larger tables, you don't feel crammed together while eating. There are books scattered about, but I do not recommend trying to take one as they are glued together, definitely for decorative purposes only. I have had several items on the menu but always seem to go back to the grilled cheese and tomato soup. Their tomato soup is so good, with actual chunks of tomatoes, real tomatoes! While I have not tried it, someone in my party did, and so I must say the Boxty is a Must-y! Some sort of potato pancake with chicken and cheese and other goodies stuffed inside; it certainly looked delicious! Check in on Foursquare or send a text to the number provided on the table for $5 off of $20 or more. The menu items are a little pricey, so this $5 off is a good thing for the budget conscious folks. My only complaint is that service is a tad slow when it is busy. Our party of 5 waited nearly an hour from the time we sat to the time we got our food. The wait for the check seemed equally as long, so have your cards ready when the server gets there with your checks. However, when it is not busy I have never had a problem. They often have live music, karaoke, trivia, etc...

Food okay, service abysmal, very dark patio. There was no greeter or waitress in sight when I came in. Finally sat myself and waited. Could not get a server's attention to get a menu, then once I did get one they didn't come back to get my order for almost 15 min. It was not busy.

This place is a little off the beaten path but is one of the few places my wife and I can walk to, have a couple of drinks, and not have to worry about driving home. It is attached to the Marriot Hotel and (for those of you who need to drive) has ample parking. We stopped in for dinner in the middle of the week. The decor is dome up in classic upscale Irish Pub fashion. The mood was quiet and casual. They have several TVs above the bar and around the restaurant so I image this would be a good place to catch a game. The bar is fully stocked and they have a nice selection of beers on tap. My wife had her favorite hard cider, Strongbow, and I opted for a Finnegans. We started out with the Curry Fries. My wife was not such a fan because they were a little soggy from the curry sauce. We'll ask for it on the side next time. I had the seafood chowder which was Excellent! The chowder is Manhattan style and you could see the various chunks of fish and shrimp in the bowl. For our main course my wife had the Maple Glazed Salmon Salad and I had the Boxty. While my wife enjoyed her salad I was blow away by the Boxty! It was spicy, creamy, filling and very tasty! The service was excellent. The plating was scheduled perfectly and our waitress was always near by if one of us was nearing the end of our drink to offer us another one. Our overall experience was very enjoyable. The prices are a little on the high side, but I think that the service and food quality is well worth it. All things considered, including our proximity, I can say that we will definitively be coming back!

Poor service at @kipspub. Their Mac and cheese is NO JOKE Kraft Mac and cheese! Also as an adult they said to add $3 to the price of it. Its not even a BOWL! It a small ramekin not any larger for an adult. Just more expensive! The menu is very limited and not very good. Took over 45 minutes to receive our food! When asking for a 2nd set of silver where as our table had 1 we were given a cocktail napkin with a fork and knife. The other table setting was a cloth napkin. The waitresses had no idea who's table was ours. We had 2 different ones coming over. The only plus was it is nearby and had the Packer game on.

authentic Irish pub, and had that feel to it for sure. I had the fish and chips and must say that the fish was very good, extremely large chunks of cod breaded and fried just right. The 'chips' were average but over all the food was good. Service was great, we were giving our waitress a pretty hard time and she was dishing it right back, loved it!!

Kips is a great Irish-American bar with a full menu and awesome drink selection. Any bar that has cider on tap is a winner in my books. Because I live within walking distance, I've become a regular for lunch, dinner, and drinks...the service is always good, whether in the dining area or bar. Just be weary of the large groups that roll in after a wedding - they tend to hog all the seats and sing along to ESPN.

One of my favorite local spots for HH. There's something about the intimate Irish-pub-like ambiance that I just love. Great place to hit up with co-workers, although it can get very crowded and very loud at that time - remember General Mills' WHQ is right down the street, Their bar food is really good too! The spinach-artichoke dip is always a favorite. Their HH specials are on par, and they also have a late-night menu from 10-11...winning! Try it out for a couple of Finnegans or Harps on a weeknight.

Great authentic Irish Pub in the Marriott West. Friendly staff and excellent food. The Chicken Pot Pie is the best thing on the menu!

Kips is a cool spot. My favorite beer right now is Stella Artois, and this is on draft here at Kips! Stella is just so good in the bottle, on draft - wow. I want to give them 5 stars just for that! Overall, it's a regular bar with a couple T.V.'s to wind down and watch some football and hang out with some buddies.

A grotesque waste! Bad service and gross food. Cold food and rude service. Not sure who wrote the menu but try again

I live in the area, but had no idea this place was so close by. As Dean mentioned it is in a Marriott hotel, which may be why I never noticed it. My friend and I both had the fish and chips which I enjoyed, but were a little too greasy. Otherwise the service and atmosphere were great.

4 stars for the service and atmosphere 2 stars for the food Really nice place to get a Strongbow and listen to some live Irish music in the suburbs. The problem is I like to order a little something to eat with my drink and the food here is fair at best. The fish and chips are a disappointments (soggy), so are the burgers and there is nothing memorable from appetizer menu. I wish they would step it up with some of the basics because I do like to come here from time to time, but I rarely order anything to eat.

Affordable drinks, nice atmosphere (especially in winter), good staff, great boxti, good fish, awesome Reuben, kids love this place too.

Great outdoor seating (heaters available) and carry the local Summit Summer Ale. Stopped in for a late night drink and appetizers, which were way overpriced for quantity. But overall great decor and very quiet pub, so stop in here if your looking for a late night drink in a quiet casual place.

Fun place to grab a drink - they have a fantastic beer selection on tap - I had a Strongbow which is impossible to find on tap! Score! Really clean and warm decor inside, nice patio outside even though it faces the parking lot. I knocked it down a star because the service was kind of put off/rude by us asking if we could transfer our 2 beers to our server outside - we had a group coming from work and the boss wanted to pay. Bartender pretty much threw my beer down. Hopefully it was a one off.
